Madelyne F. Kirch, President, is among the country’s foremost real estate marketing professionals. Over the course of a four-decade career she has helped clients clarify their objectives, define their marketing messages and position their companies and their projects in an ever-competitive and evolving marketplace. Her wealth of experience includes dozens of commercial and residential properties as well as corporate strategy and neighborhood development. Several of her clients have been aligned with her and SMMC for more than a decade – a source of personal pride.
Madelyne is recognized for her ability to discern the essence of a message, develop strategies and translate them into creative, appropriate, effective marketing tools. Her deep understanding of all facets of the real estate business coupled with her strategic approach defines her ability to “think like an owner.”
Her keen interest in cities and their continuing vitality and revitalization feeds her passion for real estate.
She holds a master’s in public administration from the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs at Syracuse University, and a dual degree in journalism and political science from its Newhouse School and College of Arts & Sciences. Post graduate, she earned a certificate in real estate studies from New York University.
An active, full member of the Urban Land Institute (ULI), she serves as a Vice Chair of its national Public Private Policy Product Council. She is also a former Communications Chair of the Association of Real Estate Women (AREW), a past chair of the AREW Charitable Fund and continues to chair the Merle Gross-Ginsburg Scholarship Committee. She also serves as a mentor and “Big” for Big Brothers Big Sisters of New York.
An avid traveler, she enjoys cycling (with trips to the Loire Valley, Tuscany, Vietnam, Cambodia and four 5-Boro Bike Tours under her belt), skiing, and visiting her two Millennial children, both of whom are happily “off the payroll”.
An innovative thinker with significant creative marketing experience, Scott has honed his marketing skills over a decade of hands-on experience with all aspects of real estate marketing – initially as SMMC’s Director of Interactive and Associate Creative Director and currently with expanded responsibilities as Vice President.
Scott’s passion for the industry has resulted in creative, fresh, insightful and relevant concepts and executions for a variety of corporate, commercial and residential clients including industry leading names across the real estate spectrum from publicly-traded REITs to the great real estate families of New York. He leads a team of account executives who provide strategic direction to ensure every client’s satisfaction.
A solid digital background and high-level understanding of interactivity, usability, digital marketing, branding and communication design underscore Scott’s proven track record of delivering intelligent marketing solutions and campaign strategies.
An art major at the University at Buffalo with a concentration in digital communications, Scott is a native of Long Island, a diehard Rangers fan and a devoted father who enjoys spending quality time with his wife and two children.
Jessica Sand, Creative Director, brings a sharp eye and thorough understanding of commercial and residential real estate. Specializing in real estate advertising for more than a decade, she joined the agency as an art director in 2005 and was subsequently promoted to her current position. A hands-on, talented designer with a deep knowledge of all graphic applications, production, photography, resources and environmental design, she can take a project from concept to completion individually as well as in a team environment.
Among Jess’ great talents is her ability to see the distinction in each project and bring it to life regardless of budget. She possesses a full knowledge of all facets of real estate advertising, logos, brochures, signage, marketing suites and premium items.
Jess graduated from Bergen Community College with both Honors and Dean’s List distinctions. A New Jersey resident, animal lover and vegetarian, her passions include roller-skating and artistic expression.
Philip has over twenty years of experience as a technology and production expert. After completing instruction in Jazz Composition/Performance at Berklee College of Music, he initially pursued a career as a professional guitarist. His interest in technology led him to develop a parallel career in IT consulting, focusing on design studios and ad agencies with their unique support needs. This led to a staff position in the publishing industry where he quickly developed print and pre-press expertise, advancing to Print Production Manager.
In 2005 he expanded his field of expertise to real estate. As a Director of Creative Services with several agencies he has redesigned and rebuilt technology infrastructure in addition to managing production, pre-press and image processing workflows. As the final link in the production process, he is responsible for quality control of all agency output.
A resident of Long Island City, Philip regularly indulges his love of music and travel.
Talia Trezza, Senior Project Manager, manages her accounts with an unmatched level of enthusiasm, energy, and efficiency that her clients enjoy and appreciate. Having worked for a residential development company in New Jersey prior to joining SMMC, Talia’s hands-on approach and eye for detail ensures projects are completed as expected in a timely fashion. She has become the consummate team player and a critical part of Sun & Moons reputation for client service.
Talia graduated with honors from Montclair University with a BS in Marketing. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling and hiking, and has a diverse palate for fine dining.
Steve Barrington Gunn, Senior Project Manager, is committed to helping clients achieve their marketing goals and tell compelling brand stories. His extensive real estate marketing experience coupled with a strong background in enterprise technology lends extra value to each assignment. Steve’s rare combination of marketing and technology skills gives him a unique perspective and allows him to find innovative, modern, and creative solutions for his clients.
Prior to joining SMMC, Steve spent six years in luxury residential marketing in South Florida. Earlier in his career he worked in information technology for a Fortune 500 company and a leading research university. A graduate of the University of Miami with a BA in Business Administration & Marketing, his educational and professional pursuits have afforded him the opportunity to live in several cities, but he is proud to call New York home. Born and raised in Brooklyn, where he also currently resides, Steve enjoys keeping up to date with technology, traveling and attending cultural events.
Elizabeth Ladd, joined SMMC in 2015 bringing with her a variety of skills. A resident of Williamsburg Brooklyn, she has lived around the world including Germany and Italy, spending her formative years in a small town in rural Michigan. Always interested in travel, architecture and culture she moved to NYC and has found a home at SMMC allowing her to deepen her real estate interest and contribute a unique perspective.
Elizabeth has amassed a variety of skills during her time as an Account Executive and is a vibrant member of the account staff, committed to working with her clients to develop, ideate and realize a wide variety of projects.
A graduate of the School of Visual Arts, Elizabeth has a solid artistic background and brings a creative and unique eye to all aspects of her work. In her free time Elizabeth continues to explore artistic pursuits, navigates the waters of the real estate industry, plays piano and enjoys exploring all the City has to offer.
